Fun handprint animals to entertain the kids!

These cute critters will entertain the kids on a rainy day! Grab some paint and get messy!

 

 

Lion

You will need:

  • Paint
  • Paper
  • Cardboard
  • Paintbrush
  • Glue Stick

 

Method:

  1. Squeeze out some paint onto a plate/palette.

TIP: Roller/brush the paint around, so that it can cover your hand completely.

  1. Smush your hand into the paint!
  2. Stamp your hand onto the paper.
  3. Turn the paper 180°
  4. Paint on its tail and claws.
  5. Grab the piece of cardboard and cut out a flower shape (a nice size to go on the palm of the hand) to make the mane.
  6. Paint the lion’s face onto the cardboard.
  7. Stick the face and mane onto the handprint body.

 

Flamingo

You Will Need:

  • Pink paint
  • Paper
  • Paintbrush

 

Method:

  1. Squeeze out some paint onto a plate/palette.

TIP: Roller/brush the paint around, so that it can cover your hand completely.

  1. Smush your hand into the paint!
  2. Stamp your hand onto the paper
  3. Dip your paintbrush into the paint and paint on the legs, neck and head.

 

Crab

You will need:

  • Your hands!
  • Red paint
  • Googly eyes
  • Paper/card
  • Paintbrush

 

Method:

  1. Squeeze out some paint onto a plate/palette.

TIP: Roller/brush the paint around, so that it can cover your hand completely.

  1. Smush your hand into the paint!
  2. Stamp your hand twice, in opposite directions, onto the paper
  3. Leave to dry!
  4. Paint on the details (e.g: the claws)
  5. Pop the googly eyes on and enjoy the crab made out of your handprints!

 

Peacock

You will need:

  • Green paint
  • Blue paint
  • Yellow paint
  • Paper
  • Paintbrush

 

Method:

  1. Squeeze out some paint onto a plate/palette.

TIP: Roller/brush the paint around, so that it can cover your hand completely.

  1. Smush your hand into the paint!
  2. Stamp your hand three times onto the page, rotating your hand as you go.
  3. Once dry, dab your finger into yellow paint and start placing onto the finger ‘feathers’.
  4. Do the same with blue paint.
  5. Grab your paintbrush and paint on the peacock’s body.

 

Elephant

You will need:

  • Grey paint
  • Grey felt
  • Pink felt
  • Paper
  • Paintbrush
  • Glue Stick

 

Method:

  1. Squeeze out some paint onto a plate/palette.

TIP: Roller/brush the paint around, so that it can cover your hand completely.

  1. Smush your hand into the paint!
  2. Stamp hand onto the paper.
  3. Turn the paper 180°
  4. Paint on the tail and marks on its feet.
  5. Cut out the elephant’s ear out of grey felt and then a smaller version out of the pink felt.
  6. Stick the pink felt onto the grey and then stick onto the handprint.

 

Giraffe

You Will Need:

  • Yellow paint
  • Brown paint
  • Paper
  • Paintbrush

 

Method:

  1. Squeeze out some paint onto a plate/palette.

TIP: Roller/brush the paint around, so that it can cover your hand completely.

  1. Smush your hand into the paint!
  2. Stamp your hand onto the paper
  3. Turn the page 180°
  4. Paint on the neck. 
  5. Then paint the rest of the details (the markings, the tail and hair) with the brown paint.
