Dad Spends Over A Year Making This Magical Reading Tree For His Daughter's Bedroom

When I was a kid, my bedroom was decorated to the bare minimum. I had pale pink walls, a plain black desk that I rarely used, a wardrobe and a few other bedroom essentials. It was livable, yes, but very run-of-the-mill.

Considering how big a Disney fan I was, I would have loved it if my room had an air of magic and wonderment to it. Sort of like this breathtakingly striking bedroom a father made for his little girl.

It was back in 2016, that a father built his daughter a "magical reading tree" for her bedroom. She had dreamed of having her very own tree to climb, sit on and most importantly to read inside, and her father made those dreams come true - as any true fairy godmother would do.

The doting dad - who works as an artist in the video game industry - posted the enchanting snaps on his Reddit page, under the handle radamshome.

This is what his daughter's bedroom looked like before the spellbinding refurbishment:

"My daughter wanted a fairy tree in her room that she could sit inside and read books," he explained on the social news site. "I was kind of unprepared for the physical realities of this project."

Nevertheless, after a painstaking amount effort, spanning 18 and a half months, radamshome managed to build the entire thing entirely on his own.

The ambitious father started by sketching out a Disney-inspired design:

He then made a mini model of what he hoped the finished product would actually look like:

After a great deal of planning and measuring, radamshome made a steel rod skeleton for the tree.

So dedicated was the creative dad that he had taken welding classes to ensure the skeleton was as best it could be. It also had to be strong enough to climb.

The next stage of the project included covering the skeleton in water, cement and polymer fluid.

Radamshome then painted the tree. He had painted miniatures in his youth, and so used the skills he had acquired back then to paint the tree. The addition of tiny, glowing windows is a testament to his attention to detail.

And for a little bit of authenticity (it may be "magical" but it's still a tree) radamshome included a birds' nest and butterflies:

He also added cute, little lights to the branches:

Needless to say, radamshome's daughter was very happy with her new bedroom. Hopefully, she will still appreciate all that effort years down the line when she's a teenager.
